Planning Your Trip

Planning your next trip... Long weekend or a Big Adventure?

Just because there's a pandemic doesn't mean that you are already prohibited from travelling. Flying abroad is risky, but who's to say that you can't enjoy a holiday within the country?

Going on a camping trip is one of the best things you can do to have an adventure without straying too far away from home. In fact, many have been doing so during the pandemic. A report by the Financial Review highlights how there’s been a spike in camper van sales, which just goes to show people are still finding ways to enjoy a holiday whilst controlling their own safety,.

If you are unsure where to start, get in contact and we will be happy to help you with ideas and logistics.

In the meantime,  below are some useful pointers. to get you started.

Go Wild.... or Go to a holiday park

To start planning your trip, theres a fundamental decision to make which will have a huge bearing on the trip that you desire. It's a big question ...Go Wild or Go to a holiday park? We specialise in Wild adventures, we love being able to roam free and hunt out those special spots to stay the night. Whether it's a hidden Cornish cove or an abandoned airfield on the moors, there's always new places to go and explore. But we know this isn't for everyone. Being in the Wild sometimes just isn't as convenient as being on a holiday park with all the facilities, bars, restaurants and other home comforts. All our vans are equally at home on a holiday park as they are on a Wild Adventure.

what to bring?

Our vans differ in terms of facilities and inventory, depending on the van. So please take note as to what's included when you are looking at which van is right for you. All of our vans have a fridge, come with at least basic cooking facilities and all come equipped with cutlery, crockery and pans. We can supply bedding if required and each van has it's own list of optional extras which you can choose to hire at the time of booking, such as childrens car seats, bike rack, paddle boards and more. We do not supply any towels so do not forget to pack your own.

Stay up-to-date with the weather

It's always sunny in Cornwall, aka Kernow, aka Kernowfornia!! Ok, we know this may not always be true, but don't let a bit of liquid sunshine dampen your mood on an adventure. It's always important to keep an eye on what the weather is doing when out in a Campervan. Especially if looking for a place to stay stay the night. Parking up in the wrong place, in the wrong weather, could see you have a not-so-comfy night.

breakdown cover

Campervan adventures are a great way to explore, and even though our vans are kept well maintained and checked regularly, there's always a chance that something could break down. But do not fear, we have great 24/7 roadside cover. So if you do need help we will always be at the end of the phone to help. We also have fully comprehensive AA breakdown cover on each van incase it's ever needed.

Safety & First aid

All of our vans go through regular safety checks and adhere to all safety requirements as to be expected with a campervan. The electrics are certificated by a qualified Electrican, along with the gas appliances being certificated annually by a gas safe Enginner. The vans are equipped with all the relevant safety warning stickers inside and out. Along with the above, you'll find a fire extinguisher, Co2 and smoke alarm in each van. You'll also find a fully stocked first aid kit in each van to assist you incase there's any mishaps.
